What is MEMI?
MEMI was developed by Dr Mike Deninger and builds on Eye Movement Integration (EMI), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and other trauma therapies. In a MEMI session, the client lightly focuses on a distressing memory, image, sensation, or feeling while the therapist guides slow, multi-directional eye movements across the visual field.
These movements engage multiple “channels” of experience — what we see, hear, feel in the body, and emotionally — allowing the brain and nervous system to integrate the memory in a safer, more balanced way. Many clients find that, after MEMI, remembering the event no longer carries the same emotional intensity, helping with issues such as trauma, PTSD, phobias, addictions, and other stress-related reactions.
Who can benefit from MEMI?
Some common issues that MEMI can be used for:
Traumatic experiences
PTSD or complex PTSD (CPTSD)
Phobias
Addictions
